Spring Meadow Lake State Park

It is a four minute walk to dive into the cool spring fed waters of Spring Meadow Lake. The park is your front yard. The bird watching is great and there are many quiet spots to sit and breathe. An accessible nature path winds around the lake with several interpretive signs. Fishing for bass and trout is allowed and we have a couple loaner kayaks. It is also a popular lake for scuba divers.

Bears

MTB City is a two minute walk from the two best places to see bear cubs in the FWP bear rehabilitation enclosure. The nice thing about these bears is they are consistently visible and they can't get to your camp to destroy it and eat all your candy bars. The center is not open t the public but you can easily watch the bears from a public path and/or park.

Tenmile Creek Park

From MTB City to the far corner of Tenmile Creek Park is a car free 4 mile running loop mostly on decomposed granite track. You'll see the deer roaming, sometimes whitetail, sometimes mule deer. There's a fishing hole to practice your cast and likely hook a trout. The park is 180 acres and flat by Western Montana standards. It also gives access to the Archie Bray sculpture garden.

Archie Bray Foundation

The Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts is a public, nonprofit, educational institution founded in 1951 by brickmaker Archie Bray, who intended it to be "a place to make available for all who are seriously interested in any of the branches of the ceramic arts, a fine place to work." Its primary mission is to provide an environment that stimulates creative work in ceramics.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Bray is located ten minutes on foot or three minutes by car from MTB City, on the site of the former Western Clay Manufacturing Company. Set against the wooded foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the 26-acre former brickyard is internationally recognized as a gathering place for emerging and established ceramic artists.
