TRAILFORKS + LOCAL KNOWLEDGE = GREAT RIDE
A few days ago, a couple from Seattle stopped by after they spent the morning riding. They described the route they took that morning and I cringed. They made great trails suck by doing them in the wrong direction. I knew exactly what went wrong because a key access point isn’t on TRAILFORKS. I’ve noted it on the map we posted near the shower for everyone to have an overview. That same afternoon I was chatting with a couple from Minnesota that had been camping with us for a few days. They encountered the miserable couple from Seattle while riding the route I’d recommended that morning after showing them the missing link on the paper map.
Some people strive to eliminate human contact by using computers and apps. With mountain biking days on the trail don’t always go well when it is digitally driven. Humans can process different data than computers. We can process your responses to questions about riding styles, experience, your home elevation, your mood, your non-verbal communication when we describe a ride and current conditions.
